A new app telling sports fans which local bars are broadcasting their
favorite teams will be unveiled this week by its unlikely creators —
two French women living in New York.Amelie Wisniak and Tamara Prud’homme are launching SportChaser on Friday to help expats search for pubs by team, sport or league — and find haunts of fellow fans.
“When people discover SportChaser is run by two women, it’s a surprise to them,” said Wisniak, 25.
Her move to the Big Apple in 2012 got the ball rolling when she couldn’t find a tavern to watch her soccer squad, the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club.
The entrepreneurs hit the pavement to jot down the NFL, NBA, soccer and golf schedules of city bars.
“Now I know where to go,” Wisniak said.
