In an important development, Samsung has agreed to acquire Viv Labs, a startup launched by a group of three people who had helped create voice-controlled personal assistant Siri that in turn was acquired by Apple in 2010. The startup came into existence in 2012, and the team has since been working on Viv, which is said to be a more powerful version of Siri.
