It was learnt that the fire, which started at about 2:30am in the bungalow, was suspected to have been caused by power surge. The filmmaker who turns 70 in August watched as his house was razed as repeated calls made to fire fighters were not answered on-time.
However, some of his belonging and vehicles parked in the compound were salvaged by neighbours, who came to his rescue.
