The LINE communications app has hit the 500 million downloads milestone on Google Play. With this, the app has made to the list that currently includes some biggies like Dropbox, Instagram, and Skype. The app - which is developed by a Japanese company, and is currently mostly popular in Asian regions only - is said to have a total of 700 million users. This compares to WhatsApp's 1 billion user base and Facebook Messenger's 900 million monthly users.
