THE PATRIOTS a pressure
group made of vibrate young intellectuals in Isoko Delta State has
called on the Peoples Democrtic Party PDP to consider the Isoko Nation
for the post of the Deputy Governor of Delta State in the 2015
governorship election.

''The Patriots wishes to
congratulate PDP again for the successful gubernatorial primaries, and
its flag bearer, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
While The Patriots
respects all the other ethnic groups/Nationalities jostling and claiming
rights to the Deputy Governor’s slot due to their various contributions
towards the Okowa project, the Patriots knows for a fact that the Isoko
Nation also made its contribution to the Okowa project too. We are
equal partners in the actualization of the Okowa 2015 Project.
Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa
needs our prayers right now in making the right choice of a running
mate. That right choice should be made from Isoko. The choice of an
Isoko Deputy Governor is predicated on the twin principles of equity and
federal character. These principles have remained the guiding
principles in not only the compass of the PDP but is also a
constitutional requirement. The Isoko nation has in the past, and will
in the future, define the deciding vote in any guber election in Delta
State.
While we respect the
aspirations of other ethnic nationalities on this very important issue,
we wish to place it on record that we have supported the Itsekiris and
Ijaws in achieving their desires of becoming two-term Governor and
four-term Senator. We are willing and dependable partners and we request
an effortless reciprocity from Southern Delta.
What is right is right,
in the Delta South Senatorial zone, Isoko Nation has always given their
support to the other ethnic nationalities ( Ijaw and Itsekiri) that make
up the senatorial zone. It is only fair that they reciprocate our kind
gesture. If not for anything, Senator James Manager should remember how
Isoko sacrificed her daughter for him in 2003, and join in the crusade
to do the needful for the Isoko Nation.
Even though Okowa may
have made a perceived deal, let just reasoning prevail, and the right
decisions in favour of the Isoko Nationality be made with respect to the
Deputy Governor slot.
In conclusion, we enjoin
all Isoko sons and daughters to say a word of prayer to GOD Almighty in
the next critical 48 hours for our esteemed party leaders, the party
gubernatorial flag bearer and those in the forefront of the
negotiations, for GODS guidance and favour on the part of the Isoko
Nation towards the actualization of her request''.
