Just give her an insanely flexible model and watch as her astonishing artwork comes to life.
The 27-year-old body painter used contortionists Lawri Thomas and Beth Sykes to create amazingly detailed paintings of creatures in the animal kingdom, Barcroft reports.
A vividly colored seahorse wraps around the side of one of their bodies as she stands on her forearms, arching her back and bending her knees forward.
A hairy, big-eyed tarantula stares intensely at viewers as the model curves her body upside down, supporting her weight with her hands and feet.
Another picture shows a model transformed into a giraffe, warping her flexible torso completely backwards as she points her right leg to the sky to emphasize the animal’s long neck.
Photographer Jonathan Macauley captured the incredible creations as he stood by and watched Fay do her magic.
The contortionists can only hold a position for a maximum of five
seconds, so Fay says that she has to be quick on her feet in order to
get what she wants.
“I then keep painting and repositioning the models until they look like the real animal,” she adds.
Currently living in England, Fay has been body panting for three years and says she drew inspiration for the images from elements in Mother Nature.
“This series of transformations is based on the marvels of the
natural world,” Fay said. “The animals featured are both closely linked
to evolution and have developed and changed over a long period of time.”
