Stampd SS14 Collection
LA’s original ‘avantstreet’ accessories line, Stampd, has announced their most comprehensive collection to date. Founded by designer Chris Stamp in 2009, the brand continues to expand on their original footwear offerings with tees and Oxford shirts.
The SS14 collection, announced with a lookbook posted on the brand’s official blog, cements their reputation as a purveyor of quality, minimalist streetwear.
Whilst accessories and footwear continue to grab attention with the same urban, youthful yet stark appearance, the collection also includes baseball influences, alongside speciality leather pieces, team jerseys and mesh hoodies.
Contrast characterises the line from the beginning, emphasising Stampd’s signature look: monochrome with the occasional pop of colour. Clean lines give character to what has become 1990s-alluding staples: elongated tees, Oxford shirts, athletic pieces and snapbacks. Everything, even when layered, appears simple and minimal, with the occasional embellishment adding a hint of variation.
Although it’s clear Stamp himself is influenced by mid and late 1990s US streetwear, the SS14 collection doesn’t go through rote recycling. Instead, staying within the confines of loose or athletic-influenced garments, they add a religious theme. Aside from the ‘GODS’ line, statements like ‘F**k Playing It Safe’ and ‘Babylon Shall Fall’ make an appearance on chests and sleeves.
The collection announcement indicated various pieces are to drop from now until spring 2014, available in select amounts through Stampd’s online store. It is anticipated that all retail partners will soon carry the collection in full.
