Bieber was photographed with a similar looking cigarette at a party in Newport Beach, California in January.
According to TMZ, sources close to both singers say the girl in the photo is not Grande and that that the picture was photoshopped to make it look like Bieber is smoking.
The picture has been the subject of much chatter in the Twittersphere, but none of the main players have yet commented.

When Ariana did speak about Bieber to J-14, she played down their friendship, saying: 'It’s funny - everybody thinks we spent so much time together because we were touring, but really, I think I saw him once, and it was for about five minutes.'
